Common Questions. Straight Answers.

Everything from trade partner engagement and custom fabrication to materials, lead times, and shipping — all in one place.

TRADE PARTNER ENGAGEMENT

  • When should we bring TT&L into a project?

The earlier the better — ideally during schematic design or design development, when the biggest cost and constructability decisions are still flexible. That’s where we can build mockups, work through details, and catch issues before they become expensive field problems.

  • What’s included in a Trade Partner engagement?

Design assist, material procurement, in-house fabrication, and field installation. One team carries the project from early coordination through the final install.

  • Do you provide design services or stamp drawings?

No. We’re not architects or engineers. What we do is work alongside your design team — helping determine what can be fabricated efficiently, where details may create problems in the field, and where adjustments can reduce cost without changing the design intent.

  • What size projects do you take on?

Everything from small custom scopes to multi-million-dollar architectural envelopes. Recent work has ranged from a $1.98M school facade to a $12M technology campus.

  • Do you work outside the Pacific Northwest?

Our installation crews primarily work regionally, but we fabricate and ship custom work throughout the U.S. — including long-length copper and zinc for projects outside our normal install territory.

SHOP SERVICES & CUSTOM ORDERS

  • Is there a minimum order?

No. We’ll fabricate a single chimney cap or a thousand-piece run — same shop, same standards.

  • Can I order custom colors or custom profiles?

Yes. We source custom-color material directly from the manufacturer in the gauges and finishes your project requires. Custom profiles are most of what we do.

    Materials →

  • What’s your typical lead time?

Most shop fabrication orders move in a few business days to a couple of weeks, depending on scope and material availability. Long-lead materials and specialty finishes are identified up front during quoting.

  • Can I pick up at the shop, or do you ship?

Both. Orders can be picked up at our Beaverton shop or crated and shipped throughout the U.S.

  • Who can place a shop order?

Anyone — contractors, architects, homeowners, or trade partners. We route inquiries based on the type of project and what’s being fabricated.

MATERIALS & CAPABILITIES

  • What materials do you fabricate in?

Stainless steel, aluminum, copper, zinc, and painted steel — plus ACM, HPL, and fiber cement.

    Materials →

  • What lengths can you fabricate?

Continuous metal lengths up to 26 feet 4 inches. ACM panels up to 16 feet. Fiber cement and HPL are routed on a 7-foot by 18-foot CNC bed.

  • Do you paint material in-house?

No. Custom-color material is sourced pre-finished directly from the manufacturer. For larger projects, we purchase material from the same production run up front so color stays consistent across roof, wall, and flashing.

  • Can you handle long-length copper or zinc for high-end residential?

Yes. We fabricate, crate, and ship long-length copper and zinc nationally for custom residential and architectural projects.

  • What gauges do you stock?

We stock multiple gauges across stainless, aluminum, copper, zinc, and painted steel, with more than 300 coils and 100 flat-sheet pallets in rack storage at any given time.

EQUIPMENT & PROCESS

  • Why does the 26-foot brake matter?

Most shops max out around 10 feet, which means longer pieces have to be spliced together in the field. More seams means more labor, more coordination, and more potential failure points. Our 26'4" Jorns Twinmatic Pro allows us to fabricate continuous lengths in one piece. We’re the only shop in the Pacific Northwest with one.

    Equipment →

  • What other equipment makes a difference on architectural projects?

A 7-foot by 18-foot CNC router for ACM, HPL, and fiber cement. An automated cut-to-length and slitting line added in 2025. A transportable roll former for projects too long to ship in one piece.

    Equipment →

  • How do you handle field measurements?

Most architectural work is field-measured before fabrication. Dimensions go directly into the machine, and finished panels arrive on site sized to the openings. Typical turnaround from measurement to delivery is about five business days.

  • Can you fabricate a profile that doesn’t exist in a catalog?

Yes. Most of our work is custom fabrication. If it can be specified, we can usually build it.
